Photos came in throughout the evening of trim and new rubber as they worked late into the night to finish the car.
Allegedly, it goes back to the smog shop today for a miracle fix and a last minute save on smog. It is supposed to be delivered to my house 8.5 hours from now.
I guess there is still hope. Stay tuned...
[UPDATE]
Can they pull it off? I can get my sticker at AAA, open until 6 pm......

Best of luck man. You know they other day I heard some one, who wasnt a car enthusiast, say “cars from the 60s and older are beautiful, and the 70s are okay, but you’ll never see poeple restoring 80s cars and bring into them back.”
You proven them wrong and for that I applaud you.

So you’re telling me that every car restoration show where they have work till the last minute to get a car ready for a show the next day is 100% accurate. Good to know.

Isn’t that standard procedure? The idea is to put it off until the customer is steaming mad so the customer is so happy to receive the completed car that they completely ignore the problems with it.

I’m guessing that person hasn’t checked out the E30 market in a while.

Well it is a ‘70s design. But we will definitely see more ‘80s cars being restored going forward, they are old enough and rare enough now.

Exactly, 80s cars are becoming fashionable again. Like that stupid “90s baby in an 80s Mercedes” song.
Also my car has that too, where it doesn’t really belong to its own decade. Yeah it’s a 91 model year, but it’s a 100% 80s car.

If it’s not there in 8.5, I’ll be there in 6. Or however long it takes to fly from jersey to cali. You pay for my flight and rental (must be a black Chrysler 300), and I’ll bust the appropriate heads.

He is correct in assuming no one is restoring ‘80s GM products. Except maybe a Grand National.

Or Landcruisers. or Fox Mustangs and F-body Camaros & T/As. Or all kinds of stuff. Guys my age who grew up with those cars are throwing money at them hand over fist.
